Columnar Blue Spruce no longer columnar

christine_zone5(zone 5 MI)April 23, 2012

Over the winter, we had a wet snow fall that bent, outward a couple branches on my Columnar Blue Spruce. I knocked the snow off my tree, a day after the snow fall, but the branches still have not sprung back into place. They are probably 3 feet long, and are splayed outward. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can to do fix this?

You don't say how tall this pine is and how far of the ground the splayed limbs are.

I have a few ideas if the limbs are within reach without using a ladder.

Can you post a photo?

Thanks for your help, Dave. My columnar blue spruce is probably about 10 feet tall, and the splayed branches are within reach, with a small ladder. They are about 7 feet from the ground.

I'll appreciate any advice you can provide!!!
