Deadheading annual Dahlias

curlylocksJune 5, 2006

This is my first time with dahlias and I just wanted to know how to dead head them properly. Do I snip the spent flower to the base of the stem or to the next set of leaves? Thanks.

All you really need to do is pinch off the spent bloom. How neat you want to be is up to you. LOL!
