Dahlias are in bad shape! Help PLease!

nimkel(6)July 2, 2006

Hi! My dahlias that are in planters have a white powdery film on their leaves and are starting to dry out? I am not sure what to do and how to save them. They are being watered on a regular basis and sit in full sun. This has only start happening recently.

Thank you for any advise!

Sounds like powdery mildew. Are you watering from the base/roots only and allowing plenty of airflow between plants or adjacent walls etc? There's a simple solution you can spray on to treat it. The good news is, it's only unsightly and not a killer; if it is indeed powdery mildew.
