WANTED: tossing out odd daylily seedlings

darlene87(z7 Wa)July 6, 2009

A few yr. ago I traded for 20 daylily seedlings. They are blooming this year, and some just refuse to open up, some are muddy colors, not clear colors, and there are only a few that are pleasing. Do I toss them this yr. or wait another year and give them another try? I have a big empty field next door that I can put them in. I toss all the iris there that I do not want, and they bloom.

Especially sense you do have the room for them, I would let them grow at least another year. They can change quite a bit in their second or third season.
