What Plant Between Flagstone in Full Sun?

littlehopJuly 8, 2010

For years I've been picking the weeds from between flagstone of a 10' x 10' path/patio. I tried sprigging dwarf mondo grass. Then learned quickly that it wouldn't make it in full sun. What can I propogate, divide, plant etc., that will go to fill in these cracks. Thyme has been suggested. I'd like to be able to maintain just by dropping the mower and maybe some trimming by hand would be ok. Very little foot traffic in this area. Thanks for any suggestions.

Look at the thymes High Country Gardens offers. They carry great plants for your climate.

Similar problem, but my stones line a stream in full sun. So xerophiles won't do. Are there mosses that would do well in full sun in Pennsylvania? What I'm really after is something to replace the tall weeds so I can stop weed-whacking along the streambank.
