This is another cactus that of which I lost the botanical name.

Yikes! I can barely see it through all those spikes!

Is the body cylindrical, like a barrel cactus, or flat-ish, like an Opuntia?

It's actually made of small columnar cacti grown in cluster.

It might be an Echinocereus

I notice that you loose ID's a lot, well , some. I put the tags under a rock near by. I also have a folder in my Photo library where I have a picture and place a name by it when I first buy a plant. I am just now doing this because tags break and get lost in my garden. I loose ID's all the time and it is really irritating. I also hate the tags in my garden.

I have a Echinocereus that looks like this but I lost its tag. Some of the hairy ones include E. triglochiiatus, E englemani, E. stramineus, E tricocereus, E nicholii. Many more. Good luck

Correction E. triglochidiatus....or something like that. This species has many variants with gobs of needles and some with out many needles at all.

Yes, it might go in the direction of Ecer stramineus, but none of the others mentioned.
