Are there any evergreens that remain small that have edible features? I'd like to plant them in front as the foundation behind a small rose garden I'm going to create. Thanks,

Try Oregon Grape. You can eat them fresh, however, they make much better jam. They are hardy when established, and come in 3 varieties, the ground cover, 3 foot high, and 5-6 feet for hedges.
I usually just lurk and haven't been to this particular forum much, but I would like to suggest maybe upright rosemary. It gets about 5-6 feet tall, but can be kept smaller. It smells wondeful when watering or pruning. Definately provides for the pot. It's ever green, and with all that, it has beautiful little blue flowers.

Storm, I have thought of Oregon Grape, but have no experience with it. Does it do well in Z 6B in the full sun facing SW?
Muddy Paws, I love rosemary, but it can get to zero here in the winter though summers go over 100 with high humidity at times. I think it would die here outside.
