This nordmann fir looks like this every spring:
Abies nordmanniana (seedling)
is it related directly to golden spreader???
keep us posted on how long it lasts ...
you getting this heat wave??
Beautiful fir Dax.
I came close to buying a 'Golden Spreader' this spring.
I wanted it bad but common sense ruled the day. That doesn't happen to often.
I put in 2 little 18" 'Golden Spreaders' last year.
Fried one, and the other is in a mostly shaded location and doing very well.
Dax, I see a lot of these with a lighter lime green push around here but yours is almost a cream color. Very dramatic and pretty contrast. How long does it hold?
It's just a spring flush but at least three weeks. I'll watch it more closely cause I'm not really sure.
Hi Ken, only since Saturday. Those were the real first days I guess I'd call them where the temps soared into the 90's. Prior to that nope.
New name: Abies nordmanniana 'Lime Lights'. Courtesy of my Big Sis!
That's a very nice looking plant, Dax! The name is great, too. (When I first read that I thought your sisters name was Lime. haha)
Dax, the new lime green growth is beautiful and I like the name Lime Lights.
Thanks, thanks! It's nice to have a fir into the mix of all the Picea's. Ya never know with seedlings!
That's a lovely plant Dax. Good luck with it!
Right on Alex, thanks!
And if you want scions, just ask.
Nice find Dax!
You're right, seedlings could be full of surprises :0)
Great color and perfect for spring!
