WANTED: Plant or Seed.

Zacherie(6b NY)December 27, 2013

Hello -
I have created a very diverse list of desired plant specimens. These specimens represent only a mere fraction of what I would like to have in my possession, but it is a start. However, I highly doubt that many of them will be common enough for trading or bequeathing, but I figured that I would give this an opportunity.

Alluaudia humbertii
Alluaudia procera
Angraecum sesquipedale
Cinnamomum zeylanicum
Colletia paradox
Crassula umbella
Dorstenia foetida
Encephalartos horridus
Hoya imbricata
Hoya imperialis
Hoya lauterbachii
Hoya obovata
Kalanchoe "pink butterflies"
Kalanchoe beauverdii
Kalanchoe gastonisbonnieri
Cnidoscolus angustidens
Pachypodium namaquanum
Platycerium superbum
Proboscidea parviflora
Puya chilensis
Sauromatum venosum
Solanum pyracanthum
Theobroma cacao

All the best,
Zach

Zach - I am more into edible gardening. I have some celeste fig cuttings, some raspberry plants, and some moonflower seeds.

I hate to appear dumb, but some common names would help a few of us less-learned gardeners...Just a suggestion.

The first two are endemic to madagascar, not sure where you can get those.

The third is commonly known as Darwin's orchid/Christmas Orchid/Star of Bethlehem Orchid (also from madagascar)

Cinnamon

Thorn of the Cross/Crown of Thorns (from south america)

Crassula (succulent from south africa and madagascar)

Dorstenia is from the area of ethiopia

Eastern Cape Blue Cycad ( think that is how it is spelled) is from south africa

Hoyas are from asian tropics and ants love them

Kalanchoes is a succulent and of the 100 some genuses, only one is from the americas

Tree Spinach

Pachypodium is a succulent from namibia

Stag Horn Fern - from australia

Double Claw or Red Devil's Claw - native to southwest USA and northern mexico

Puya chilensis - evergreen from Chile

Voodoo Lily from asian and african tropics, smells foul while flowering

Porcupine tomato from madagascar

Cacao or Cocoa Tree from central and south america

Hope that helps, I got bored and let google be my friend!
