HAVE: Have Davidii bushes to give away

ushan(7)March 15, 2013

Hello,
Hello I have a large bush of Davidii's that I would like to get rid of. I believe that there are a total of 3 plants. I hate to have to whack it down and kill it and so I am hoping that someone will take it and replant it.
I am not sure if it needs to be pruned or not before digging them out.
Picture attached. Its about 5ft tall.

The roots may be too massive to dig by hand, but since it is a viburnum, you can give the shrubs a second life by rooting cuttings of them. You might call Plant Amnesty or your local Master Gardener's association to see if they know someone who has a small earthmover. Also, there are landscapers who specialize in mature plant installations that might have the equipment necessary to move it, and they might even do it in exchange for the shrub. You never know until you ask. If all else fails, you can try Craig's List. Thank you for being conservation-minded and so generous. I would take it if I could, but I wish you luck in finding it a home.

I assume you want to get rid of it because it is starting to block the window view. You can reach down into the shrub and cut the upright growing ones. It will sprout new growth from the stems. I'd wait until after it blooms, but you can do it now if you want.
You can also cut the lawn out to accommodate the new growth.
Starting them from cuttings is easy. I've done hundreds.
