WANTED: water hyacinth / pond / aquatic plants
--aquatic plants that grow well for you in western WA to provide cover & help balance pond water for goldfish in full sun and part sun ponds.
Want to trade from my large collection of plants or seeds; possibly hardy water lilies if you have enough water hyacinth since that's what my friend with the WL would like to try this year.
Looking to trade close to my home in SE King County, but would consider Pierce, Snohomish, & Skagit counties if we could meet near the freeway. I've broken my ankle recently, so am not very mobile yet.
Want list of water plants:
floating: water hyacinth, water lettuce, azola, duckweed, frogbit, salvinia (cat's tongue)
submerged oxygenating: anacharis, hornwort
shallow water shorter plants: bacopa, chameleon plant (hasn't overwintered for me yet in a pot), pennywort
I'm also interested in any water gardening advice for our region especially if you have successfully balanced fish & plants, have cautions about specific plants, or successfully grown in floating planters/islands.
