Clematis

Dr. Ruppel is the first to bloom of my Clematis

Another picture

I have a couple others that are coming along like Jan Lindmark but others like Bill MacKenzie are just now starting to show signs that they survived the winter.

Very pretty Andrew.
All of mine have made the winter here as well. My Allanah had a few buds on. But I was cleaning out my flower bed (A work still in progress) and busted the top off.
Oh well, it'll make it bush out better.

The flowers on Dr. Ruppel get to be about 15-20cm in size... also the lighter part of the petal fades in the sun so it is a nice contast of pink to almost white (the picture I put up is a new flower that just opened).

And as a big bonus it only needs to be lightly pruned (basically cut off the dead ends). Only gets to be about 2.5 meters in my experience but some websites say 3 to 3.5 meters. It is a prolific bloomer.

It looks a lot like clematis alpina 'Willy'. The 2 in my yard are just starting to open up.

I remebered today its a Jan Lindmark that I layered and divided last year.

The big give away was it looked exactly the same as the other Jan Lindmark lol
