losing of needles

cholbrookJuly 4, 2011

I have numerous cupressina norways and one of them has completely dropped its needles, i'm talking about a pile at the base of the tree and the is brown and still flexible. This happened in a manner of 6 months. the ones next to it are starting to do the same thing. I know it is getting plenty of water, it has had some insect damage but not enough to do this kind of damage. I can actually strip the limbs of all needles with just two fingers down the twig. even the ones around it that are green and just fine months ago are showing this problem. can anyone help!!!

Probably not a good tree for Colorado. Pinyon, Ponderosa, or White Fir would be better. Let's stick with the natives.
