Do I see mites on the underside of the leaf?

Mites under fig leaves is a common occurrence, specially in dry conditions.
There are various kinds of mites...
A good jet-spay with pure water should knock most off.
A good fine-spray with a (mild) soapy solution should finish the rest...

It looks like the start of fig rust to me but it may be mites like gorgi said.

Yes, rust was my first impression too.

But if one magnifies the 2nd picture and/or
use a 10x eye piece on the underside of the leaf; one can
see that the mites are doing the actual browning/damage.
