Air layering a Ure pear.

sengyanApril 29, 2010

Can one air layer a Ure pear? Has anyone successfully done this? My neighbour has a Ure and has given me permission to try layering. Please post your pros and cons about this.

Thank you.

You can try,...nothing to loose, it might work,
when successful in rooting, it might not be what
you're looking for.
I have done it on plum, after it rooted in a year
or two I transplanted and it just didn't want to grow.
I have now another one of the same cultivar, Sprouts Sunshine,
...will see the outcome, sometimes it's not worth it, because
you're loosing the virgoures rootstock habit.
