What happens if you screw up?

What happens if you screw up with your weather forecasts, you don't bring the potted figs in and it gets down to the high 20's overnight? (I am talking about figs that are leafed out pretty good, not dormant). Will they still produce figs that season?

This happened to me a couple of years ago. My fig tree lost all of it's leaves but then resprouted again. It set everything back a few weeks. It still produced figs. It depends on your climate and on the type of summer we end up having. If you live in a borderline climate that only ripens figs in good years then you might have a problem. Otherwise you should be ok assuming the plants weren't damaged too bad by the freeze and can bounce back.
