Reblooming

on_greenthumbJuly 17, 2010

Is it just me or has there been a lot of reblooming on plants that traditionally don't (or at least, haven't for me in the past)? So far this year, my Fine Wine Weigela has not stopped all season (normally done by end of May), my Firewitch Pinks has some buds on it this as of this morning, my Bleeding Hearts haven't died back and are actually starting to bud up again.

I think I'm going to have some strange combinations this year.

I`m in ONT too. My bleeding heart, as well as my neighbors are going dormant already. So your`s unique. It`s a bit worrisome if the plant expends it`s energies to produce new leaves now when it should be resting. Has there been any peculiar cool temperatures in your area lately

I'm in Cleveland and my bleeding hearts are definitely not dormant, either. They keep producing new leaves. I don't know if it's because they are in dappled shade and receive a ton of water or what but it's been in the 90's and they haven't stopped.
