Bought this at Pikes in the fall of 2013. Planted it in the ground late April 2014. Has a fig almost ripe!

This is what one of it's figs looked like.
What beautiful leaves it has!
Why thank you! My wife is not into figs and has commented that she likes the way it looks.
That is a nice looking fig!
I wonder if it is known by some other name?
Thank you! I have scoured the internet for information and found hardly anything. http://cajunfigs.blogspot.com/2013/08/the-black-fig-and-italian-fig.html has some information on a "Black Italian", but mine does not have pink leaf stems. It does have pink bud tips. On Greenleafs website: http://www.greenleafnursery.com/index.cfm/fuseaction/plants.plantDetail/plant_id/5252/index.htm there is very brief information. I would like to find out more about it. The figs were very good.
I found a site that sells Italian cuttings. They have one picture Of "Valle Negra" and the leaves and plant look very similar, but not the same.
