I've been looking so hard for a morden 604 cot tree. Now it's end of season maybe some fellow hobbiest have seen one around. Closet place I found one was in Nova Scotia lol.
I have a dead one. There are sprouts coming from the root. Does anyone know whether this would be the Morden or other root stock?
Possibly rootstock, I would think known names are grafted, unless it was tissue cultured?
If they are coming out above the graft than that's morden604 . Anything below it will be rootstock. A common rootstock for cots are haggith.
Where did you get the m604 tree from if you don't mind telling. After seeing how well all my westcot have come back I'm interested in the next best variety.

The tree came with the house and died about a year later.
These apricot varieties are going extinct. Cannot find brookcot m604 trees any more.
To heck with it I give up .
My timing is terrible. Dutch Growers in Regina had them in July. The 604 variety is easy to see on the signs. You could call them and find out who their supplier was and remember that for next season. Sorry I could not have been more help.
I called Dutch growers this early summer and they had not apricot trees at the time I called . I got a new variety two weeks ago that will produce larger apricots
Grandpa's orchard has them this spring, 2015.
Grandpa's is located in Michigan, and doesn't ship to Canada, so that's not going to help Mattpf. Good info for US growers though.
The Greenspot in Brandon has them listed in their catalogue , they may not stock the trees but could probably get them.
