Aster Frikatii Monch - What are the options

bodaySeptember 3, 2012

In Winnipeg, I'm getting varied information on this Aster. Anything from zone four to six. I've noticed people on this forum talking about this Aster a while back re seeds. My question is - Will it survive our climate or should it be treated as an annual? Now I have nor problem with plants rated zone four.

boday, I've grown this aster for about 20 years and it's never winterkilled even in winters with little or no snow covering. It flowers over a long period of time, though does not produce a mass of blooms at any one time. The plant makes a good companion to hydrangeas such as 'Little Lamb' and 'Lime Light'.
