First fig of the season

tmc2009August 11, 2014

Trojano is the first fig of the 2014 season for me. I noticed this while watering. I did not think I had anything near ripening yet so it was a nice surprise.

Here is a link that might be useful: Trojano fig

Nice video. The Trojano looks good, I should give it a try.

Yesterday I picked my first two figs of the year. A Malta black, and an Atreano. The Malta was very sweet and good. Today I found another ripe Atreano, and a Negrone, which I gave to my wife. She said the Negrone was also very sweet. Waiting now for Violette de Bordeaux to ripen.

It's a challenge to grow figs in New England, but well worth the effort.
