Black Triana, Tarantella; Does anyone grown these?

jenia(5b NY)August 13, 2009

I have seen references to figtrees.com in the Boston area but can't find any descriptions on-line for their Black Triana or Tarantella. Does anyone on this forum grow those varieties? If so, can you describe them and/or their performance?

Many thanks.

C.J.

These are varieties that Joe Morle sells. I would call him and ask. You can do a search on his name on the forums and a link to his site.

I am conducting fig cultivar suitability studies in South Louisiana. I grow the Black Triana and many other varieties. You can read about the Black Triana and many other cultivars on a current thread that is running on the figs4fun fig forum (link below). That forum allows post editing and I update my post on this thread almost daily as the figs ripen in my collection. I give taste ratings and fig descriptions in this post.

Here is a link that might be useful: figs4fun forum thread

Tarantella?
Italian song played at weddings!!!
The napoletan's, the hard heads (Calabrese) i say that in a nice way, and siciliano's (my family) play it.
Never new until now a fig plant had that name.

Thanks, arigato. Yes, I know about Joe. Just thought someone on here might
have some hands-on experience with these varieties. I have read
Italiangirl's posts about his Paradiso but haven't seen anything about the
others.

Yes, Diesler, you can dance the Tarantella and eat it too!

Danab, thanks for mentioning the Figs4fun thread. I'll head over there.
