Anyone growing pistachios in S. Fla?

davidcalgary29(2b)February 7, 2013

I'd love to try some trees at my Dad's place in the central Bahamas, but understand that pistachios need winter chill...and our temps bottom out at 15C/60F. Is anyone having success with them in southern Florida?

Sure doesn't look like it, I guess that's a California thing. Remember when they used to dye them red? I read that that was due to a fungal blemish that they though would deter sales.
