Lilacs reblooming!

ostrich(3a AB)September 7, 2013

I planted a small Bloomerang lilac last year - it bloomed in spring and it's blooming again! How exciting!!!

But the reason why I am posting is because I helped my friends plant a Syringa Juliana ("Hers" lilac tree) this spring. It bloomed beautifully then. However, it is blooming again now! I didn't think that this was a reblooming lilac, or is it? Does anyone else have any experience with this lilac tree please?

Lilacs have some natural reblooming ability. It's just very sporadic and they don't really produce much. I have a dwarf Korean in the front yard that reblooms occasionally.

Cultivars like 'Bloomerang' are much more dependable.

Thank you, Shazam, for the explanation! I will let my friends know.

BTW, that Bloomerang lilac is doing really well in my yard - love it!
