Phillippine violet

dclegg_gwMarch 22, 2012

I would like to move my violet from the back of the house to the front ((West side). It is about 5 feet tall 1. should I cut it way back first? 2. Will it do okay with hot afternoon sun with stone for ground cover? Doe it require a lot of water as it get pretty hot and dry in that spot during the summer. 3. does it like acidic fertlizer? Thanks

Hi
I find these to be very invasive. Mostly from seed but even broken stems will sprout. Don't think you'll have any problem moving them.lol gary

Hi,
Gary is correct They shed their seeds and babies come. But
I find them easy to weed them. Mine do well in the east, under trees and on the west getting some Sun.
I'm south of Ocala. Very pretty flowers.
