Do Newly Planted Bulbs Mind Being Disturbed?
As mentioned in my other post, I have a whole flower bed still blooming like crazy.
I also have about 60 bulbs still to plant.
Here's my possible plan:
Dig holes and plant the bulbs now between the existing plants, which are mainly annuals.
Pull the annuals when they're finished.
Huge splash of color in the spring.
Plant annuals to hide the dying foliage.
Will the bulbs mind this fall, if they start to establish themselves and then I accidentally "mess with them" a bit when I'm removing the annuals? Will it do the bulbs any harm as long as I'm careful replanting them? Or, do I have to sacrifice the remainder of my imaginary summer?
Thanks for your input, as always =:)
