Not a avocado tree. Many people have said it looks like a type of ficus. Just trying to figure out what it is so that I know how to care for it :/

Ficus elastica, or better known as Rubber Tree plant. One of the many ornamental ficus cultivars. Commonly grown as an indoor plant. In my area, in the ground (as many ornamental ficus cultivars can do), it can get HUGE. Doubtful it would survive outdoors in zone 8, they cannot tolerate freezing temps, think they're found in zones 9b and upward.
