i dont think i ever posted a pic on this one .... not recently anyway ...

as such.. it wouldnt surprise me if joy wants a name change ..

any clue.. why lichens are so prevalent out here in the country .. versus in suburbia??? .... wind borne and more wind???

Ken, this time you got the right plant ;0)

I'm wondering why it lost so many needles, it looks so bold.
I see only needles from last year growth...

This is a 1 year old graft of the same cultivar which I've at my nursery.

first pic.. whole dead branches..

its had a hard life ...

i was hoping for a pic of a more mature specimen.. to see if it is supposed to be sparse.. like many of the parv's ....

Perhaps shock, but every P. parviflora I planted lost ALL but its current year needles.

No other Pinus species did this except parviflora.

Whaas, I think Dax was saying something similar recently.
Besides,I don't find parvifloras particularly hailstone-proof. Anyone suffered from hailstorms? T.
