I see one of our crab apple trees has been 'pruned' by a moose in the last few days. (sigh) Oh well, they're hungry I suppose. That tree is the one I don't have fenced.

I live on an acreage in a rather heavily forested area with plenty of darn moose and deer. I do not have a fence and no longer have a dog, so all shrubs and younger trees are either fenced or bound with twine and crammed in with dead dry branches to discourage foraging of the animals. This method has worked very well, though the trees will need to hold their own when they beocome larger.

Canned moose meat sandwiches with onions, salt and pepper and mayonnaise, this is really good, lol.
