Is anyone able to tell what this is from these pictures?
Almost positive it is a guava--probably pineapple guava, which has tiny fruits. The bark is VERY telling ! They are wonderful trees, and good for wildlife too!

Looks like the bark of a crepe myrtle. Can you send a photo of the leaves?
Thanks for the ideas. Yes, I think it may be a crepe myrtle, but I'll get a closer shot of the leaves the next time I'm out in Coral Springs then post it here.
I don't think that is a crepe myrtle. They aren't usually that lush in S Florida this time of the year.
