Chinese dwarf clivias

seaecho1(SW CA)October 2, 2005

I want to buy one from a guy in China who has an excellent reputation on ebay, but am nervous about the stress of shipping, and whether I could keep it happy. (He ships from China) I've never had a clivia before, but these little dwarves have stolen my heart! I was thinking of a Henglan, Sparrow or Daruma hybrid (bred to be small). These are two yr. old plants. If anyone has experience with them I'd love to hear of your experiences, positive or negative. Its between me getting this or one of the new Cristia obcondata Stripe Plants. Don't have any more room for more than one plant! (Yeah, I know. . . I've said that before, LOL).

Randi, did you get the clivia from China? I'm thinking of sending for seeds.

OH MY! Seeing is believing, a small one costs $150! Why are they so expensive? No wonder people go to China to buy it.

I'd try the seeds before spending 150.00+ for a plant..You can find seeds on Ebay as low as 12.99. If they don't have mini's in stock then wait a few days and check again. Toni
