What do I do next?

tracydr(9b)April 6, 2010

This is the first year that I've grown year round. I'm a little uncertain as to exactly how to make my seasonal transitions? Do I just pull up the greens and peas, add some compost and get my plants/seeds in the ground?

I've actually delayed some because I was waiting for winter harvest of lettuce and peas to be done.

Usually people plant the seeds between the plants that are maturing.

I recently read an article in "Organic Gardening" magazine that said NOT to pull the pea vines out but to cut them off at the base and leave the roots in the ground because they are a good source of nitrogen for the soil. I just cut mine yesterday.

Thanks Mrs tic. This is the stuff I was looking for. Too late for this year but next time I will use the information.
