'Mi Amor', Very Fragrant Rhododendron
Possibly "Mi Amor" is the one of new group cultivars developed from a species. Does any one know this Rhodi?
The leaves are impressive neat and huge, like a tropical plant. Label indicates it will reach 6 feet tall. White cluster flowers with yellow throat are very fragrant. A 4 to 5 feet plant costs only $ 278.00. Of course I bought a one gal plant at $ 19.00 which may take three years to flower.
Unintentionally, I might end up with a garden to have fragrant flowers in four seasons. I have a few Rhodi plants which will be flowering after camellia bloom.
Believe it or not. Some of my M.alba will flower in Feb or early March. Because a few small size flower buds left from last year's are likely in dormant stage. Soon the green house is gradually warmed up by the sun, they will catch up to grow and to flower. Then new flower buds will be normally developed in the Summer.
