The leaves remind me of a Pittosporum I grew years ago.

I just did a google image search (link below) and it looks like some sort of Pittosporum by the flowers too.

I just checked your members page to find that you are in Canada, I am in Quebec which is sort of Canada so like you I am not familiar with Pittosporum, apparently it is as common as poutine further south. A friend who has just moved down to North Carolina sent me the picture for ID and I guess it would be a house plant here and I didn't know it. Oh and yes the flowers are fragrant.
