Carnations question

cassieinmass(6)May 10, 2009

I just bought two carnation plants from home depot and put them into my perennial flower garden. (they are my ALL TIME favorite plant!!!) I was wondering how they spread year after year, is it by root or do they re-seed? Are they invasive? Are they truly perennial? Any info will be appreciated!!!! Thanks and happy mothers day!!!!

The are known to be a spreading perennial in Southern France.
