Murraya seedling blooming!

gardenscents(8)August 4, 2011

I planted a few seeds from a Logees Murraya panniculata that I got last year and lo and behold it is blooming! What satisfaction that is for me because I've had so much trouble getting any Murraya to bloom. Now I have the mother (about 2 ft tall) and her baby in the same pot - both blooming! I'll post a picture if I can figure out how.

Also have a Grand Duke blooming and what heaven that is! I've never smelled a fragrance like that before so of course now I have to have more of that one.... Need a bigger house.

Wow! RuthAnne, what a thrill that blooming seedling is. And a chip right off the old, early blooming block. Way to go!

Yes, I love the Grand Duke, too. And I agree, two is far better than one. :) BTW, a friend of mine propagates GD the same way you did your Murraya seedling-- puts cutting in the same pot with the mother plant. (I've never done this) In case you wanted to try your hand at this as well.
