Organic Fertilizer

deep_roots(5a IN)February 21, 2007

While many people use a lot of organic matter (peat, leaves, compost, manure, etc.), has anyone used organic fertilizer instead of synthetic fertilizer for giant vegetables? I want to grow some giants in my organic bed that is fertilized with corn meal, fish emulsion, etc. However, if I need a Miracle Grow 15-30-15 for better results, please let me know.

A healthy soil is what you need. You will find most of the giant growers are pretty much organic...Using Agro-K or silular products we use Fish, kelp, molasses, and calcium. Along with plenty or manures from our zoo.

Deep Roots......anything Rainydays reports is 99% right on.

If you give organic fertilizer as a subject to Google you will see many options and sources. I have not used synthetic fertilizers for over fifty years. My results have been fantastic with one impressive state record and national listing. Like you I just like to grow healthy soil first. The amazing results will show up later.
