What would you do if lilies were in your new asparagus?

bagsmom(7)April 12, 2010

I thought I was planting in a fairly empty area when I made my asparagus bed. I just planted the asparagus roots this March.

I'm seeing some Asian lilies popping up in there.

Should I try to move them? Or leave well enough alone? Can they co-exist peacefully and pretty-ly?

What would you do?

Thanks!

Well, I hate asparagus...so...I'd vote to keep the lilies!

LOL (That didn't help much, huh?)

Others will probably have 'way better advice, but I have to say I think it's great when you can have veggies mixed in with ornamental stuff. The only thing is being careful what types of products and fertilizers you might use, right?

That was funny! I like asparagus stir-fried with mushrooms. It is crunchy and tender at the same time. I would never eat it mushy!

Hubby loves asparagus, so he would agree with you. I think it's just a deformed, extra-chewy green bean!
