Can you clear up the difference of Alsobia punctata smithsonian and A. dianthaflora smithsonian?

Not sure just what you're referring to as there are no selections or cultivars of either species named "Smithsonian".

Hi Nancy,

Here is a link to Ron Myhr's gesneriad page. It doesn't say much, but here it is. Have you done a google on A. punctata? There are a lot of entries. Maybe you can get your question answered there.

OT here,

JohnnieB- wasn't there an article written(local D.C. paper?) about your backyard garden a year or so ago? If I am remembering correctly, it was GORGEOUS!

I bet there was--he has posted pictures periodically, and I definitely agree. He is also the hybridizer of Chirita 'Blue Moon', which is blooming now in my back yard and is also gorgeous. Thank you, Johnnie_B, and for your other beauties, and for your regular help on these forums.
