Can anyone recommend a source in the U.S. for this plant? It's supposed to be very fragrant. CLAN orchid in Fla. lists it, but when I called to inquire, I was told they're sold out.
I've looked for this one also, but no luck. However, one of it's parents, dendrobium scabrilingue, is available at Andy's orchids online -- a very reputable grower, which cannot be said of the other nursery listed.
Thanks so much, Jim. I will call Andy's. Camp A Lot of Noise lists it, but when I called a month ago, the lady says she's out and isn't planning to get any more. She said the seedlings originally came from Thailand and they don't make the hybrid anymore. Frustrating.
By the way, did your hoya Iris Marie ever bloom?
Regarding the hoya? No. Not ever. I got buds once, I think, which promptly blasted. I've made cuttings several times before and tried to bloom them also, with no success.
Gave the last one away this fall.
This plant really, really doesn't like me! :>(
sorry to hear about your hoya. Hoya cuttings take a long, long time -- up to 5 years-- to bloom. That is if they don't kick the bucket first. I have had luck buying large, blooming hoyas that have done well. But they are hard to find, especially the good varieties. Orchids are much easier.
