Please identify this tiny 'melon'
I have what was called a Pakistan Cucumber plant which I
cannot find at all on the internet. It makes tiny fruit
changing from near white to green -- exactly like a long
green watermelon with long stripes, except that it is only
2" long or less when mature. If left on the vine, it will turn red from inside - out. It becomes a beautiful cerise red, and is very soft with plenty of juicy seeds. -- I pick them half grown when they are just turning light green, and taste very much like an ordinary cucumber. When left to
grow larger, they become hard and the flavor deteriorates.
The flowers are white - about 2" - and the leaves are very
similar to grape leaves, but more succulent. Supposedly
they are edible, but I don't know about that. The plant is
very vigorous, climbing over anything, and with many tendrils. -- It freezes back, then reappears in spring.
It loves S. Texas.
Please tell me anything you might know about this plant. Thanks, mucho. -- Mel
