idea for miscanthus planting

hilarycApril 6, 2013

My house sits on a corner in an older neighborhood. At the street corner, I removed the grass in the small triangle between the sidewalk and the street and would like to put in a smallish ornamental grass. Am thinking Miscanthus Adagio. I'm wondering what to put with it? Something lower, with color - perhaps daylilies, or something with a bluish foliage? Any ideas would be great. Thanks!

Be careful your planting doesn't interfere with the vision of motorists at the corner. 'Adagio' can easily reach 4' in height, and can be equally wide in time.

Hilary, have a look at what one of the posters on the OG forum has done with his "parking strip"- Scott has some really great ideas for combining grasses with other garden perennials.

Here is a link that might be useful: Rhone Street Gardens
