what is my so-called lawn made up of?

nosyrosie(z7/8 - Atlanta)April 2, 2006

I've been noticing over the winter that sadly my lawn is disappearing, but it is being replaced by some kind of weed--I don't think it's proper groundcover.

The plant is very low, looks like little tiny parsley. From a distance it looks almost like moss. People remark that it's good looking but I'm afraid it will be a problem in the summer.

Does anybody know what this might be? Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks, Rose.

I have this same stuff all over my lower backyard. I'm in the Piedmont of North Carolina. It will take over, run into beds and gardens...any help would be appreciated.
