Tall, Thin, Showy Grass (wheat-like gold stalks)

bluepoppyMay 12, 2007

I'm trying to identify a grass I saw in Zone5. Any ideas?

Its TALL, THIN, green, straight-up stalks, about 6' high.

The stalks are similiar in look to pampas grass (but more like a golden wheat color).

It looks non-invasive, thin, very tidy and neat. Very showy.

You haven't given us much to go on.

Is it 6' tall to the plumes?

Is the clump of grass thin, or the blades of the grass?

When you say 'stalks' do you mean seedheads/flowers/plumes?

Maybe it's Calamagrostis x acutiflora 'Karl Foerster.'
