Pachysandra and bark

seattlegardenerJune 19, 2006

I just planted pachysandra in my shade garden. My thoughts were to put down fine bark to inhibit weed growth. Will this prevent the pachysandra from spreading and multiplying? Thanks.

My experience with pachysandra is that it grows fine under most conditions. In fact, I just bought a house that had years of leaves matted ontop of the ground- by spring I had a beautiful bunch of pachysandra! What a surprise!
