Help me ID this groundcover

azure_lily(6)August 6, 2012

I have a really low grow groundcover between my stepping stones. I'm trying to ID.

The leaves look like moneywort, but the flower is really tiny(2-3mm), and it's blueish white, not yellow.

The tiny flower has 4 pedals, looks like tiny veronica.

Can you guys help me?

Almost looks like common chickweed. Do you have a better closeup of the flowers?

OK, did some further research and I am pretty sure it is thyme-leafed speedwell (Veronica serpyllifolia). So, you were right in your suspicion that this is a member of the veronica genus.

Check out the link below as well as the wikipedia entry: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Veronica_serpyllifolia

Here is a link that might be useful: Thyme-Leafed Speedwell
