Indian grass

mainegard3(5b-6a)July 4, 2013

I have indian grass in full sun but behind some other faster growing plants so it is partially shaded. So far it is only a foot high with only a few blades. Is this just slow to establish since it is a warm season grass?

It definitely doesn't look happy. It should be much further along and much fuller than it is. It may be too much shade. It may also be in too rich and wet a soil. It's also getting a lot of competition from weeds.

Are all or most of the growing blades on the exterior of the clump? If so, the center may have died, and it will need to be divided.

I cut out the center and replanted in sunny spot with no other plants to compete. Do you think this has a chance to rebound?
