Cracked Mellons

wv2gaAugust 21, 2009

One of my smaller variety of watermelons (sugar baby) was growing fairly well, then I noticed it had a large crack in it. Of course, the fruit is ruined.

My question is what may have caused that?

The crack is neither at the stem/base, nor is the crack centered, just an odd location.
