Ate my first tromboncino tonight

Sliced, battered, and fried. Delicious! Better than zukes.

And the one plant is so happy it's taking over the garden. I'm amazed more people don't grow this. I had never heard about it until this year when I was trying to learn more about veggies that do well on trellises. This one isn't vertical but is becoming a ground cover plant in all the spare space in the end of the garden, winding around rose bushes and marigolds and other things. It's one very healthy plant!

Sounds beautiful and delicious! I'm growing Old Timey Cornfield Pumpkin, from Rodger Winn, in NC. Don't know how it would be as a summer squash, since I don't want to cut one green this year. But it is doing an incredible job of covering up an entire garden.
