Corkscrew Rush Juncus effusus f. spiralis water plant?

cadillactasteAugust 29, 2013

I picked up some on impulse...loved the corkscrew "fun" grass. Planned to plant them behind my stems on the plate glass flower. To add color and texture to that area. Like they were popping up from them.

Now I am seeing on line they are bog plants...and do well in water. I have seen occasionally they did okay without watering constantly once established.

Anyone have success with these in a garden setting with no water feature?

Yes - this plant will grow in any reasonable garden soil with average moisture. It is often used in container plantings.

Thanks gardengal...I've put off putting them into the ground just yet...until I knew for sure. I do have a water feature in the backyard. But wanted then for my plate flowers.
